Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of Pine Gate Renewables, Ben creates key partnerships, drives company strategy and over sees development, operations, project and corporate finance. Prior to joining Pine Gate Renewables, Ben was the Director of Structured Finance and Director of Business Development at FLS Energy. He has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Indiana University, is a CFA charter holder and is a board member of the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association.
Founder and Chief Operating Officer
As Founder and COO of Pine Gate Renewables, James is responsible for leading strategic operations and company growth initiatives and oversees Pine Gate’s nationwide business development efforts. His background includes managing a 300+ MW development pipeline and the origination and build-out of more than 100 project locations. His areas of expertise include utility relations, regulation, land evaluation, interconnections and zoning process. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer, Ray manages all financial activity for Pine Gate Renewables, including accounting corporate finance, risk management, asset management and compliance. Prior to joining Pine Gate, Ray was CFO of North Carolina solar developer and EPC contractor FLS Energy. During his tenure at FLS, Ray oversaw the financing of over 475 MW of utility-scale solar farms utilizing over $1 billion of equity and project/corporate debt. He has a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.
Chief Construction Officer
As Chief Construction Officer, Chris is responsible for managing Pine Gate’s construction planning and oversight. His duties include developing agreements with contractors, material and vendor procurement, and developing strategy and process to ensure that our budget, safety, and schedule goals are met. Previously Chris was the VP of Operations at FLS Energy where he oversaw the completion of over 400mw of solar assets. In his 7 years there, he was a member of the management team that led the company from $2 million of revenue to over $300 million. Prior to joining the solar industry Chris was a member of the 844th Engineering Battalion and constructed military projects in Iraq and Kuwait. He is a lifelong resident of Asheville, NC where he resides with his wife Kelly and two daughters, Brooklyn and Harper.
